Two days in El Minya from Cairo
Your Egyptologist guide will pick you up at the hotel in the early morning. Today, you will have an impressive tour to El Minya. The drive to get there will take about 4 hours. Upon arriving in the city, start your tour by visiting Middle Egypt. Head to Tuna El Gebel where you can see the tombs of Ibis and Petosiris. You will have lunch in a local restaurant in El Minya before going to a hotel for a night in El Minya.
After breakfast at the hotel, your Egyptologist guide will pick you up from your hotel in El Minya. Your day tour will include the visit to Beni Hassan tombs. The tombs here date back to the old and Middle kingdoms. You will visit and explore the tomb of Baqet III, which contains many wall paintings of wrestling techniques. Then explore the tomb of Khaty Tomb who was governor in the 11th dynasty. The tomb of Khnumhotep is another beautiful one worth the visit. After lunch in a local restaurant, you will enjoy a special tour to Tell El Amarna the capital city which was established by Pharaoh Akhnaton, learn about the story of Atun and how Akhnaten became the first monotheist in ancient Egypt. At the end of this great experience, you will go back to Cairo.
